Default Stardate?

As you might guess the debate about the new movie has far reaching consequences and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] how, well, let's just call it the Romulan event that Spock is unable to prevent in 2387, would affect the different existing fan productions.

How does ST: The Continuing Mission stand? I checked and the stardate mentioned at the start of "The Darkest of Thoughts" is 31498.2 which, according to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], is 2354 so you would seem to be well clear of having to take it into consideration. However because of the vagueries of the stardate system I thought I might check.

Thoroughly impressed with the content and delivery of TDOT by the way, just downloaded the Command Decision trailer, looking forward to its release!

Cheers

Kirok of L'Stok

Default Stardating

Dear Kirok,

Y'know, I'm not sure. The writer, Dave Raines, is a great fan of TOS, but I know that he doesn't know much about stardates. He tends to leave them as xxxxxxx in scripts and then Andy, I think, gives Tim the actual date to read. Was it in TNG that they began standardizing it?

I know there's a difference between TOS and TNG stardates

LOL! I'm the same way with names - my first drafts are full of Ensign Fred and Sally (although Ensign Mary Sue never seems to make it!) and then do a global find & replace at the end when I sit down and work out what their names should really be.

Would TCM be pre-Nemesis or post-Nemesis?

Post Pre-Nemesis

Hi there

Star Trek: The Continuing Mission is Pre-Nemesis, with the series set approximately 10 years before the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Kind regards

Thanks for that, Andy! I find details like this fascinating, they give depth to the plotline and help the fan who wants to sink into the storyline a way to place it in context with established canon ... Trek Prime Universe canon as it is now?

Cheers

Default Hint

Yeah, we tried to insert a little cluse as to our time when, in "integration," Locke mentions that the new Galaxy-class is coming on line in a few years.
