Guy Vardaman - Abdiel - Episode Five
Guy Vardaman worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation from the 11th episode ("Too Short a Season") until the first Next Gen based film. Starting out as background and quickly becoming Brent Spiner's photo double and a stand-in for Wil Wheaton, he continues to walk the corridors and push buttons on the bridge and in Engineering until he was seen evacuating the Enterprise in , Star Trek Generations, where he was also a Klingon on the ship that shot the Big E down!
In between, he held an office under Gene Roddenberry working as a "Research Consultant" on those days he wasn't working on set and got to play various random Klingons and Romulans as well as the eventually-named crewman, Darien Wallace. Work with all things Star Trek in the Paramount licensing division followed and the creation of a resource library for Trek licensees to draw upon to make their products more accurate. One brief stint as a Klingon in a Hallmark ornament commercial (spoken entirely in Klingon, with subtitles) marked the end of his on-screen trekking.
Since that time, he has sustained himself by working in the internet industry. Starting with the formation of a digital group at Paramount and the creation of Star Trek: Continuum, which quickly turned into simply startrek.com as well as managing a variety of other smaller sites for Paramount television. After watching over that for several years, he moved on to Warner Bros. to try his hand at managing websites for Harry Potter, LooneyTunes and a wide variety of WB properties as VP of Production for the Online division.
He now lives a frenetic life with his wife, two dogs, two children and as little sleep as possible in Southern California, building robots in his "free" time.
